»Wheel bearings

Each castor is worthless without first-class bearings. Therefore, we recommend bearings that are optimal for the respective use and which guarantee the necessary safety reserves. Besides the tread, wheel diameter and swivel bearing, the wheel bearings determine the runability and thus the quality of the castor. Yet every situation sets different requirements: those under furniture in the home differ from those in a commercial firm, those under rubbish containers differ from those for hospital beds and castors under shopping trolleys must meet completely different requirements to those for transporting heavy loads in a factory. For this reason, TENTE offers the correct solution with optimum bearings for every application. Additionally to the four most common types of bearings, other variants are available on request for special applications. Tell us what your application is and we will tell you which bearings are the right ones for you.

Roller bearings. Beside the friction and deep groove ball bearings, this robust type of shock-resistant bearings is mainly used for
transport equipment castors. Roller bearings are characterised by their low installation height, relatively low roll resistance, and high
load capacity among other things. The travelling speed of wheels with roller bearings should not exceed 4km/h, around walking speed.

Cone bearings. Cone bearings are one of the most important groups of roller bearings. Their special advantages compared to plain bearings lie in the use of spheres, which provide improved running properties.

Precision ball bearings. The various designs of single row radial precision ball bearings to DIN are the highest quality type of bearings. Wheels with these ball bearings have extremely low roll resistance for maximum loading.

Plain bearings. The simplest form of wheel bearings is plain or friction bearings. They are shock-resistant, mostly maintenance free and depending on the material properties also corrosion proof. We recommend plain bearings for wheels on equipment to be moved with a low velocity over short distances.
